I’ve landed in Galway, visiting some coastline and castles along the way, as well as enduring rain, furious winds and some bone chill….. brrrrr Thankfully soup, hot lattes and pints of Smethwicks Irish Ale are in good supply and keeping things warm! Fantastic! You’ve been turning out some amazing photos, love them. Got to say the rock one is just gripping! […] and secure and did not need to see another Irish Castle, up pops version #2 of Dunguaire Castle. (Version #1 posted 21 March). And for those of you who know me well, you will know that I have a penchant for “post […] Traveled to the Cliffs of Moher today and staying in the town of Lahinch with has a lovely coastline right off the main street. We arrived at the cliffs way to early to do them justice in the sunshine and it was also really misty. So back we went later in the day with a slightly better result. I cruised along the seafront an enjoyed the foamy fresh air while I waited to go back to the cliffs. A lovely little town. The hotel is a TAD “quaint” ….. During my one week in Dublin last year, I so wanted to go, but decided just to stay put and really experience Dublin. I had read so many articles that you really need a few days around the cliffs in order to deal with the constantly changing weather. THANK YOU for taking me there! Beautiful! You are really making me want to go back to Ireland. There’s a reason that they say that the best landscape photographer’s light is early morning and early evening, because it is!! After a day shooting Castles and sundry other stone what-nots, I nipped off out after we got back to the hotel – with my trusty tripod , ND filters and caught the light………. and I liked what I saw! Some ancient stone ruins by the town of Adare and I’m pretty sure this is the River Shannon, tho’ not sure. Happy St Paddy’s Day ….. from Ireland! Fabulous!!! Happy St. Paddy’s Day back at ya. Enjoy your time! lovely calm view. Love the sky and the reflection, could do with a little trip to a peaceful spot, looks beautiful. Enjoy the time there. OXOX M Well Yipee, I finally arrived in Ireland after somewhat of a slog, including 24+hrs with no sleep and a too too long layover in freezing Boston! Thankfully the “luck of the Irish” is already working as today was sunny and warm and just lovely to be out and about walking with my camera. The castle is eyecatching, some folk might find the swans less so, but for me, coming from Australia where our swans are generally BLACK!!! I find white ones to be odd and interesting!! Loads of lovely Celtic crosses adorn the cemetery at St Mary’s Cathedral. And some very interesting doorways to be found!! Knock knock! And…. reassuringly, the universal language of grafitti is alive and well here too! Though I am not sure that I’d fancy it painted on the side of my house! I’m still kind of jetlaggery and since I am not that keen on processing pics on my laptop that will have to do for now………. Ciao Marie Great pics, glad the Eagle has landed. OXOX M Great photos. I was in Ireland in 2009 and would jump at the opportunity to go back. LOVE that second doorway capture! That has Ireland written all over it! Seeing all of this makes me want to return and visit the country. I only saw Dublin and surrounding area. Have fun! |
