Piping Away

blog_08_april_2014I think bagpipes are one of those love-hate things in life.  If they are beneath your window at some ungodly hour then they don’t sound so good……. but…… if you are in Ireland and it’s St Patrick’s day and there is a parade, AND beer, then they sound just AWESOME!

AND…. a big shout out to my Son, David who is off shooting pictures at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Sydney!!!  Way to go handsome …. you are making your Mum really really proud – a nice chip off the OLD block!

Joanne Thieme Huffman - Love the look on his face that you captured.

Bren - I think it’s the Graham in me and my Scottish roots, I love the haunting sound of the pipes. Love this photo, the b/w really emphasizes the textures. Yum

Disparate Things

blog_04a_april_a_2014I messed with a load of images today. …. Preparing some portfolio work for a model that I shot a while back and then came across this photo that I played with for a while.

Then I wanted a new creative piece for a magazine submission and tinkered around with some shots from Ireland and came up with this ….

blog_04b_april_a_2014A composite of several images shot of the River Liffy in Dublin, a cathedral door and a museum frame shot in Limerick.

A little bit all over the place, but that’s how it goes in this house…. the mind goes and wanders where it will…..

joanne thieme huffman - Such beautiful meanderings.

Dublin City, Ireland

blog_02_april_a_2014Sorry if you are bored to death with pictures from Ireland!  I’m quite sure in a day or two I will have something else on my mind but for now I’m working my way through the pictures I shot and finding many gems that float my boat.  It’s always easy to take wonderful photographs of stellar scenery, especially when you catch the light “just right”!

I’ll leave you with a fun Fish Eye shot of the Dublin City Hall ceiling – and not in mono! And its not a kaleidoscope, this is pretty well straight out of the camera!
A fabulous building and so so fun to photograph the amazing dome at the center of the building.

terry rowe - wonderful in black and white, like how it forces us to see the lines, shapes, and shadows without being distracted by the color.

Gail - Do not stop! Love your shots.looking forward to many more. Should have hung out with you. You have a great eye keep sharing

Joanne Thieme Huffman - I certainly won’t grow tired of any of your Irish photos. The black and white ones have an enjoyable drama.
