Sunrise On A New Year

blog_8_jan_2014

Yeah, I’ve been kind of absent these last weeks or so and the New Year has come and gone!  Busy moving house and now surrounded by boxes galore and nasty scenes of deja vue from March last year where I swore I would not do this again!

However I’m pretty happy!  More drawers and cupboards than I can fill, the  lake still out there…. albiet 25 more steps down a garden path.  The new house has also proven to be a tight and cozy spot despite the freezing onslaught that we are battling right now.

Anyway, I apologize a bit for being absent…. but you know, life gets in the way  of stuff now and then …

So, I hope you are all starting 2014 off to a bang up start.

I’ve lots of globe trotting planned for 2014 already… including a fab, fun week of digital painting in France in June,,,,   you going to come play too??????

Robin aka Gotham Girl - Happy New Year! What a way to start a new year with a new home! Wish you the best in settling in. Can’t do France (oh how I wish!) but sure am eager to find out the date for your NYC class! Looking forward to following your work during 2014. You are such an inspiration to me!

Sea Dreams

blog_28_dec_2013

The week between the old year and the new with the house quiet again after a month of sons visiting, flurries of cooking, laundry, shopping and trips hither and thither and Holiday celebrations.
Not too many opportunities to get creative of late but I have stolen a few tonight – stolen in that I should be packing boxes and making headway for our move to the new house – but sometimes you just have to stop and take a little time out!

My appearances here will be a little sporadic until we get moved and sorted out.  In the meantime I’ll leave you with tonight’s creation,  Sea Dreams, a digital composite created with a model photographed here in Charlotte,  some added texture love courtesy of the beaches in Long Island and touches from the skies of Australia – all cooked up in Photoshop.

Joanne Thieme Huffman - Lovely! Good luck with your move.

Bren - Love this piece it’s so arresting ! Can’t wait to see your new place and creative space!

Some Cathartic Grunge Painting

blog_16_dec_2013

Life’s busy and a bit complicated right now.  Balancing house closing, the boys visiting, sorting through the details of the new workshop in France plus another online class I have in the works …. and then the Christmas thing …..

So an hour immersed in messing around in Photoshop provided a welcome respite from the “ball juggling”!  It’s definitely the “go to place” when I don’t want to think about anything else!

Joanne Thieme Huffman - Love the expression on her face and the riot of color. Very happy to hear you are going to have an online class. Good luck with all the house stuff.
