The 10 days of Joan

blog_28_aug_2014I’ve been hosting my friend Joan Blease from the UK for the last 10 days…. cameras in hand we have snagged – Stonewall Jackson’s abandoned buildings… horses near Cowboy Town, the lovely Bre’ in costume, Fine Art Nudes with Aime Jo, contemporary dancer with Legan, costumed event with La Maupin, mucked around with still life in the Studio at home, done pretty ballerina and capped it all off with a bit more trespassing in an old hospital…..

AND… we have eaten CAKE!…. well Joan has as least…

Who says we can’t show guests a good time!!

Carolina Landscape

blog_18_aug_2014The landscape hereabouts is wonderful at this time of year, golden greens and fields of sunflowers abound.  Add some faded glory in the shape of an old barn and yo! you have a painterly landscape!

Just Lovely – Viktoria

blog_16_aug_2014I finally understand about a Photographer’s “muse”…. this lovely lady does it for me every time.  Countless frames captured with my camera, and they are all “keepers”!

I first met Viktoria via a Meetup in NYC and was drawn to her beauty and ability to work so seamlessly with a group of photographers.

Since that time I have had several opportunities to work with her one on one, get to know her a bit and chat some…

Her beauty shines within and without and her ability to find some degree of empathy with the photographers that she works with is second to none….

Dancing In The Air

blog_12_aug_2014A little fun up in the air this weekend with some very talented Aerial Dancers – Elizabeth Burns and Ayla Claypool.  Makeup was done by Dani MUA.  Of course I can’t stop at the out of the camera shot for too long and a little creative play ensued…. a couple of fun backgrounds and then some hand made fractals for good measure!

A Few More Snippets from France & Workshop Updates

blog_07_aug_2014Slowly working my way through some more of the images that I shot whilst in France for the Digital Painting and Photography workshop that I hosted with Karen Burns in June this year.  We have also been hard at work setting up a Facebook group for past, present and future students where you can see some of the stellar art that has been created by our fabulous Students!

I’m pleased to say that our October Digital Painting Workshop is now quite SOLD OUT!!!  And we are excited and very much looking forward to seeing some old and new faces here in Charlotte in October.
Our France 2015 Trip is already HALF FULL!!  So if you were thinking of a little jaunt across to France to capture some stellar scenery with your camera and then work on the Digital Paintings with us, don’t delay!

We are also nutting out the finer details of a workshop to be held in California in February of next year (2015) ….. so stay tuned for that!
