I’m spending a few days photographing the fabulous Lonaconing Silk Mill in Maryland (not Lanaconing as above, sorry!) with my friend Terry who was kind enough to do the ferrying from DC across to here :-)!
The Lonaconing Silk Mill, also referred to as the Klotz Throwing Company, is the last intact silk mill in the United States. It is located in Lonaconing, Maryland, the site was nominated for the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s list of America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places.

I’ve snapped some amazing photos despite the fact that it is absolutely FREEZING cold and even colder inside the building than out! I didn’t bring my tripod as I’ve just been traveling with a carry-on so have had to get a bit creative with lighting using my flash…..
Tomorrow we head back for a few more hours of shooting… it’s supposed to be sunny at least but COLDER…… ewwwwwww….
