A Touch of England

blog_15-March_2015I’ve been super busy since arriving in the UK – preparing for four workshops that I am teaching here with Joan.  I am happy to say that our first Manor House Costume shoot and Photoshop Workshops have been very successful and I now have a few days of breathing space to take in the local scenery and catch up with friends and family for a bit.
A lovely little walk this afternoon after class found me feeding ducks and taking pictures of the pretty canal nearby…. the fresh air was ‘bracing’, but wonderful!!

Here and next there…

blog_11-March-2015My goodness, what a long time between posts….

Since returning from California I have been SUPER busy! … designing a brand new website for  PhotoPaintWorks Dot Com which I am hosting together with Karen Burns – it features our Online Store with Textures and Brushes for Corel Painter as well as loads of information regarding our various “Excursion Workshops”  and our brand NEW ONLINE workshop for Corel Painter 2015 – called Digital Paint Works , which starts on April 2nd, 2015!

If you love Digital Painting and you use Corel Painter then this is the Class for you!

In the  next breath I have jumped – or will be jumping – across the “Pond” to the UK to work with Joan Blease at Cre8ting Images where next week we will be hosting 2 Creative Costumed Location Photoshoots and 2 Post Processing in Photoshop Workshops.  The better part of the last few days has seen me creating presentations for those events and getting material ready for teaching….  I’m super excited!

I daresay I will keep you posted as and when I can….  there will be a lot going on in the next few weeks but towards the end, a little R&R in Germany with my Mother and the “Dawg!” will lend itself to catch up time ………So be prepared for Mosel River images, vineyards, toadstools and beer, along with Downtown Abbey styled fashion and faboulousness!

It might even be warm in Charlotte by the time I get back….. one can hope!

California Coast – to Big Sur and Back

Well I’ve just returned to the chilly/snowy Carolinas after nearly two weeks away in SUNNY California – teaching Photography and Digital Painting worshops with Karen Burns and what a wonderful time we have had.

The weather co-operated beautifully and we had several days of out and about photography, sharing camera experiences with our students and helping them make the most of their shots…. lots of learning with long exposure photography and landscape images which we then had the chance to paint digitally in Corel Painter and Photoshop.

Despite being “en-pointe”, my camera still managed to capture a few magical moments ….

Our thanks go out to all our Fabulous Students…. you were a great group and we look forward to working with some of you again very soon at Donner Lake or in France – or even both!  We have a few spots available in both excursion workshops!
