Gatsby Glamour

blog_31_jan_2013Another image from a recent photo shoot, playing with Gatsby Glamour!  This one’s been messed around a bit in Photoshop using textures, a bit of painting and what not.  A few more tweaks needed perhaps but it will have to wait for fresh eyes in the morning.

I do love having my own stock/model images to work with.  No copyright hassle and so much more originality.

Joanne Thieme Huffman - Elegant.

gotham girl - Oh my…incredible! Love!

Changing Faces

blog_27_jan_2013Model Sheridan Wilcox

Hard to believe that I turn a whopping big 53 today!  In my mind I am still 28, in my adventures I am still 30 something, in life experiences I think I feel 40+ but with my camera I feel like a teenager, just starting to figure it all out!!!

Moving back to Charlotte has been life changing. I love the weather, the lack of hassle and roads you can actually drive on ….. but I miss Manhattan, the vibe, the iconic structures and streetlife to tell stories with.

So you make whoopee as you can …. Meetup groups with a different perspective, more models, less street life …. but to all seasons and change, challenge does come.

I’m learning to take beautiful pictures of a different sort.  And who knows, in  a few years time that perspective might change too.

For now, I’m just going to go with the flow … and for the many of you who have followed my Blog for years that might be less than interesting but I do hope you will stay along for the ride………

I’m looking forward ………

gotham girl - Happy Birthday!! Here’s to looking forward!

joanne thieme huffman - Belated Happy Birthday! I loved my 50s – so far, my favorite decade.

Bren - Happy YOU-Day! Sure hope you did it up good 🙂

Stunning B&W ! Skills upon skills always amazed at your work

Carpark-ing thoughts

blog_25_jan_2013

Not your usual subject material I’ll agree, but none the less  fodder for some good Black and White fun!  (Original image below, snapped from the Holiday Inn Carpark in Charlotte.)

Carparking aside, I have storage on my mind.  Trying to figure out how to store, backup and add redundancy to over 3TB of images and artwork!  Having to drag old learning as a Microsoft Engineer back into the forefront of my mind and begin considering RAID arrays and all sorts of geeky stuff to get on top of the data management!

I think I’d rather be swirling images around in Photoshop instead of trying to tidy them all up into neat little (carpark or cloud) boxes!!

How about you?  Where do you park all your digital stuff?

New Painting in Photoshop

blog_20_jan_B_2013

The lovely landscape of Languedoc ……   I’m working on some snazzy new Photoshop Painting techniques that I will be sharing during my upcoming Workshop in France in June where I will be teaming up with Karen Burns, to Photograph, Photoshop and Digitally Paint the wonderfully picturesque South of France.  Looks wonderful doesn’t it?

Iris Otero - This is beautiful! Reminds me of home so much. 🙂

Joanne Thieme Huffman - It does look wonderful.

Wolf - I thought it was a painting.Watch your blog with great interest.

gotham girl - Oh, how beautiful!! So looking forward to hearing about the possibility of a NYC class! 🙂

Chris - Yes. It looks wonderful. Ever since I visited Paris in 1997, and then again in 2009, I’ve wanted to see the French countryside.

This looks like a wonderful class.
