Hallgrímskirkja – Iceland

Back tracking a little… to the first day I arrived in Iceland.  It was cold, rainy and after a quick lunch we stopped off at Hallgrímskirkja – a wonderful piece of architecture indeed.

Taking photographs of the outside was a bit hit and miss, you had to time it right to avoid the bus loads of Japanese Tourists that seemed to persistently pepper the forecourt, but the exterior of the building was amazing as was the interior of the Cathedral…. it’s vaulted ceiling and wonderful light lending itself to some great pictures and plenty of fodder for creative play!

gotham girl - Your art work is just amazing! More please!!

joanne thieme huffman - Love the interplay of light and structure in the vaulted ceiling photo. The building is amazing (have to agree with the thought that it would look less stark and imposing with a bunch of tourists milling around).
