Postcards from Limerick

blog_16a_mar_2014Well Yipee, I finally arrived in Ireland after somewhat of a slog, including 24+hrs with no sleep and a too too long layover in freezing Boston!

Thankfully the “luck of the Irish” is already working as today was sunny and warm and just lovely to be out and about walking with my camera.

The castle is eyecatching, some folk might find the swans less so, but for me, coming from Australia where our swans are generally BLACK!!! I find white ones to be odd and interesting!!

blog_16b_mar_2014Loads of lovely Celtic crosses adorn the cemetery at St Mary’s Cathedral.blog_16c_mar_2014

And some very interesting doorways to be found!!  Knock knock!blog_16d_mar_2014And…. reassuringly, the universal language of grafitti is alive and well here too!  Though I am not sure that I’d fancy it painted on the side of my house!

I’m still kind of jetlaggery and since I am not that keen on processing pics on my laptop that will have to do for now……….

Ciao

Joanne Thieme Huffman - Great photos. I was in Ireland in 2009 and would jump at the opportunity to go back.

gotham girl - LOVE that second doorway capture! That has Ireland written all over it! Seeing all of this makes me want to return and visit the country. I only saw Dublin and surrounding area. Have fun!
